Avachinsky volcano
The three volcanoes just north of Petropavlovsk, from left to right,
Koryaksky, Avachinsky and Kozhelsky.

Avachinsky just after it's 2001 eruption. You can see the grey ash on the
white snow. The plume is just a normal
fumarol plume, as can be daily observed on Avachinsky. The somma structure can
be clearly seen. Koryaksky is in the background.
