Violarite
Violarite from an undisclosed locality on Kamchatka. This specimen was found
in the Soviet era in an ultra basic intrusion,
presumably Mount Phillip. Violarite is the gray material with slight purple hue.
It shows cubic cleavage lines. It replaces dark gray
pentlandite. Also visible are golden yellow chalcopyrite and an unknown medium
gray mineral.
If you can attribute this specimen to an exact locality with some certaintly,
please contact me.
